Here you will find explanations about the submission process, our turnaround timeline, the information we need to do our best for your cut, what to do if you need revisions, what you should upload (and where), and answers to FAQs.

Here's how it works:

  1. Share your music and details.

  2. We review everything carefully.

  3. If there are questions, I'll reach out before starting.

  4. Your figure skating cut is guaranteed within 14 days, and usually arrives in less than 7 days.

Uploading your music

Please upload an actual MP3 file that you have purchased and downloaded.
 

Links from Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, etc. won’t work. 

Icecut can’t access/edit music from streaming services, and can't legally use files you didn't purchase.

​So:

You buy the music file from them.
You buy a cutting service from me.

We all stay on the right side of copyrights.

 

​​The good news: MP3s are easy, very cheap to buy, and

also easy to download from places like Amazon or iTunes.

Once purchased (do so on a desktop/laptop!) download

the file to your device, then upload in the form below.

Information for IceCuts

If you don’t really know what you need, that’s okay. Simply write ‘guided cut please’ then leave it to IceCut to shape a strong, well-structured cut using our decades of musical judgment & skating expertise.

If you know exactly what you want, write 'directed cut please' then be as specific as you can, giving approximate timestamps to help describe your choices.  Even small details matter, for example:

  • can you imagine yourself in a long spin somewhere?

  • do you love the 3rd chorus more than the 2nd? 

  • are there sections you actively dislike?

  • What about tempo changes (which judges tend to love) 
     

This is where to include that information.The more you share about what you'd like, the better we can do for you. 

NOTE: These are the most requested events. If you need something different (Adaptive, Theater on Ice, Synchro etc) , please describe in the program detail box above and we will speak/text to finalize your details.

Please be sure to refer to track 1, 2 and 3 in your descriptions of what you want, and help me understand by using timestamps. 

If you need more than 2 tracks in your cut, let’s speak on the phone for clarity.

Remember that multi-track complex cuts may incur extra costs depending on the keys/tempos involved.

Our Promise

Figure skating music editing is collaborative, and sometimes coaches or skaters need adjustments once they hear the program on the ice.

 

Completely normal! If something needs refining, I guarantee to adjust it so you have program music that truly works for you. But here is the guarantee that really matters:
If I wouldn't let my skater work with the cut, I won't let yours either. 

 

NOTE: The majority of IceCut music edits are approved exactly as delivered because I think it's important to take the time to understand what you need before I begin. If you have opinions on your cut, don't miss out on the opportunity to collaborate here.

To keep music projects organized and prevent lost files or missed details during competition season, PLEASE send all music submissions and editing requests through the official Start My Cut form above.

The form securely collects:

• editing notes
• deadline info
• delivery information
• payment confirmation

This allows every project to be tracked properly from intake through final delivery.


​Please note that editing slots are only reserved once payment has been received. Because music editing is custom creative work, IceCut Music is unable to begin projects without upfront payment confirmation.
